The Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan is planning to extend the temporary ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and certain other petroleum products from the country.

According to a draft order, the ban on the export of petroleum products by road transport, including to member states of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), will be extended from May 21, 2026, to November 21, 2026. Simultaneously, restrictions on the export of light distillates by rail will remain in place.

Furthermore, it is envisaged that an additional ban on the export beyond the customs territory of the EAEU will be extended from July 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026. This measure applies to light distillates, aviation kerosene, diesel fuel, gas oils (gasoils), toluene, xylene, and petroleum bitumen.

The adopted measures are aimed at ensuring Kazakhstan's energy security and maintaining stability in its domestic market for petroleum products.
