Tokayev and Putin Discuss Upcoming State Visit to Astana in Phone Call

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin. The leaders discussed the agenda of bilateral relations and the forthcoming state visit of the Russian President to Kazakhstan.
During the call, Vladimir Putin congratulated President Tokayev on the successful holding of the nationwide referendum and the adoption of a new Constitution for Kazakhstan.
The presidents focused on their countries' shared agenda. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev emphasized that Putin's state visit to Astana, scheduled for late May, is of great importance for strengthening strategic partnership and allied relations between Kazakhstan and Russia.
Vladimir Putin agreed with this assessment of the upcoming talks. He also noted the progressive nature of bilateral cooperation across all strategically important sectors.
