The former chairman of the board of the Uzbek Metallurgical Plant (Uzmetkombinat), Dilshod Akhmedov, has been placed on the international wanted list. The notice is published on Interpol's website.

Investigative authorities have charged him under Part 3 of Article 167 of Uzbekistan's Criminal Code, which covers the misappropriation or embezzlement of property through theft.

Dilshod Akhmedov, born in 1972, was appointed to lead Uzmetkombinat in October 2024. His tenure was short-lived, however, as he was removed from the position in August 2025.

Prior to this role, Akhmedov served as Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade and held the position of First Deputy Chairman of the plant's board.

Uzmetkombinat is a key metallurgical enterprise in Central Asia, specializing in the production of rolled steel and steel grinding balls.

The company's financial results for 2025 showed a net profit of 117 billion soums. This represents a significant decrease of 66.4% compared to the previous year's figure of 348.1 billion soums. In 2023, the plant's profit was substantially higher at 513.7 billion soums.
