Zelenskyy Warns of Imminent Large-Scale Russian Airstrike on Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a stark warning to the nation's citizens about an imminent large-scale airstrike being prepared by Russia. The president made the announcement in a video address, urging people to pay close attention to air raid sirens.

"Please pay attention today to the active air raid signals. According to our intelligence, the Russians may be preparing a massive strike," Zelenskyy stated in his message.

The Ukrainian leader assured that all necessary orders have already been given to the country's air defense forces in connection with this threat. Following Zelenskyy's address, Ukraine's Air Force confirmed there is a real threat of a large-scale combined attack during the night of March 24.

Military reports indicate Russia has launched drones and put strategic aviation aircraft into the air. Preliminary information suggests there is a high probability of cruise missile strikes against Ukrainian territory.

Authorities have urged residents not to ignore air raid warnings and to proceed immediately to shelters when alarms are sounded. This warning comes amid heightened tensions following what has been described as Moscow's largest drone attack since the beginning of this year.

In that earlier incident, Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin reported that Russian air defense systems destroyed at least 66 Ukrainian drones heading toward the capital city, with all aircraft reportedly shot down within less than 12 hours. The attack prompted temporary restrictions on takeoffs and landings at several major airports serving Moscow.
