Kazakhstan's Ministry of Defense has launched a surprise combat readiness inspection of its Air Assault Forces, a drill that will run until February 19.

The exercise is being conducted under the personal supervision of Defense Minister, Aviation Lieutenant General Dauren Kosanov, and is designed to assess the real-world capabilities of the units. Subunits have been brought to a prescribed state of readiness and are deploying to training ranges to execute combat training tasks.

Over three days, personnel will conduct a tactical exercise with a company tactical group. The scenario requires troops to neutralize simulated militants in an urban environment, conducting live-fire exercises using both vehicle-mounted and small arms.

In addition to field maneuvers, soldiers will be tested on core combat training subjects. Special attention will be paid to evaluating physical fitness, marksmanship, tactical medicine, and proficiency with communications equipment.

Minister Kosanov has directed command staff to ensure comprehensive personnel preparation, strict adherence to regulations, and safety measures when handling weapons. A comprehensive assessment of the troops' readiness to perform assigned tasks will be issued following the inspection.
