Bodies of missing children found in Atyrau, suspect confesses to quadruple murder

The bodies of two missing children, Nauruz and Miramgul, have been discovered in the "Geolog" microdistrict on the outskirts of Atyrau. They were found in the yard of a house previously rented by the main suspect in the case.

The children are the offspring of a married couple who were themselves found murdered earlier in the Atyrau region. The grim discovery was made after investigators returned to search a specific plot of land.

This new search was prompted by a confession from Sultan Sarsemaliev. He and his wife, Akbayan, were recently transported to Almaty. There, Sultan admitted to killing Nauruz and Miramgul and revealed he had buried their bodies in the yard of his former rental home in the Geolog neighborhood.

Sultan Sarsemaliev is now suspected of murdering four relatives of his ex-wife, Akbayan. The bodies of her parents were previously discovered under collapsed debris in a shed on their own property.

Akbayan herself is also implicated in the ongoing criminal proceedings. However, the specific charges she faces have not yet been disclosed by authorities.
