Four Astana Residential Complex Cases Sent to Court After Investigation

Investigations into criminal cases concerning the illegal solicitation of funds from citizens for shared-equity construction in Astana have been concluded. The total damage caused is estimated at 8.2 billion tenge.

The criminal cases against a group of individuals have been forwarded to court. Their actions resulted in particularly large-scale damage, affecting the interests of more than 426 families.

Investigators determined that the organizers of the scheme collected money from citizens for the construction of residential complexes "Oasis," MZhK R-Club, and ZhK R-ClubDeluxe without obtaining the necessary permits, in violation of legal requirements. The funds raised were not used for their intended purpose, and the construction of the facilities was carried out improperly.

To secure civil claims from the victims, a court-sanctioned seizure has been imposed on movable and immovable property. This includes 10 apartments, 36 land plots, 16 non-residential premises, and 49 vehicles.

Twelve suspects have been remanded in custody at a pre-trial detention center.

The city prosecutor's office urges citizens to thoroughly verify the presence of a valid permit for attracting shareholder funds before purchasing an apartment. This step is crucial to avoid fraud and protect one's rights.
