Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have inked 20 trade agreements with a combined value exceeding $400 million, marking a substantial advancement in their bilateral economic relations.

The deals were finalized during a high-level business forum held in Uzbekistan's Fergana region, coinciding with an official visit by an Afghan trade delegation. The event brought together private sector representatives from both nations.

The signed contracts span several key industries, including textiles, raw materials, pharmaceuticals, and other sectors. The agreements are designed to foster stronger commercial ties between the two neighboring countries.

The Afghan delegation was led by Zalgai Azimi, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment. It included prominent business figures such as Abdullah Rahimi, Said Ahmad Noorzad, Ubaidullah Hotak, and Mirzaman Popal, Deputy Executive Director.

Officials from both sides emphasized the strategic importance of enhancing cross-border trade and establishing stable, long-term economic partnerships to drive mutual growth.

During their visit to the Fergana region, the Afghan delegates toured several major industrial facilities to observe local production capabilities firsthand and explore further opportunities for joint ventures and investment.
