Ukraine to Deploy Experts and Equipment to Counter Iranian Drones in Middle East

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that Ukraine will provide specialists and technical means to help counter Iranian-made Shahed drones in the Middle East, following a specific request from the United States.
In a statement, Zelenskyy said he had instructed the relevant authorities to provide the necessary equipment and ensure the presence of Ukrainian specialists who can deliver the required security. "Ukraine helps partners who help our security and protect the lives of our people," he stated.
The president emphasized that Ukraine possesses unique expertise in defending against these drones, calling it "the greatest in the world." He noted that Shahed drones currently represent one of the most significant challenges in the region.
Zelenskyy clarified that any such assistance would be provided only on condition that it does not diminish Ukraine's own defensive capabilities. He framed the move as a diplomatic investment, helping those who support Ukraine's efforts to achieve a just end to its own war.
The announcement follows recent diplomatic contacts. Zelenskyy confirmed he has held talks with leaders from the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and Kuwait in recent days, with more negotiations planned with other regional leaders. Coordination is also ongoing with European partners.
When asked by journalists if he had requested such help from Ukraine, U.S. President Donald Trump responded, "I will accept any help from any country."
This development comes after British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated earlier that London would involve experts from Ukraine to help shoot down Iranian UAVs in the Persian Gulf. The UK has also agreed to allow the U.S. To use British bases for strikes against Iranian missile launchers and storage facilities.
