Zelenskyy Announces Potential Three-Way Talks with Russia in Early March

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has revealed details of a recent conversation with former US President Donald Trump, which also included American special representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner.
According to Zelenskyy, the discussion focused on an upcoming meeting in Geneva where a Ukrainian delegation will hold talks with US representatives. Furthermore, the parties addressed preparations for a subsequent round of negotiations in a three-way format involving Russia. These talks are tentatively scheduled for early March.
The Ukrainian president stated that this sequence of steps is designed to pave the way for negotiations at the leadership level. He noted that Trump supports this approach and views it as the only viable method to resolve complex issues and bring the war closer to an end.
Zelenskyy clarified that on February 26, a Ukrainian delegation led by National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov will meet exclusively with US representatives in Geneva. The three-way negotiations involving Russia are anticipated to follow in early March.
On February 24, marking the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of a potential visit by Trump to Kyiv. He believes such a trip would allow the American leader to gain a better understanding of the situation and witness what Ukraine describes as Moscow's simulation of a negotiation process.
