The Department of Land Resources Management for the Almaty Region conducted an unscheduled inspection of the Konayev city akimat's activities. The audit was prompted by concerns regarding the legality of a land allocation.

During the inspection, it was established that a land plot with a total area of 150,000 hectares had been allocated for the construction of a residential and entertainment complex featuring a zoological park.

The allocation process violated requirements of the Land Code, as granting this specific plot contradicted provisions outlined in the city's general development plan.

An official order issued to the Konayev city akimat to rectify the situation was not fulfilled within the established timeframe. Consequently, the prosecutor's office filed a lawsuit with the Konayev city court.

During court proceedings, representatives from the Department of Land Resources participated in hearings as a third party and provided explanations regarding the identified violations of land legislation.

Following its review of the case, the court fully satisfied all claims. By its ruling, this commercial-purpose land plot has been returned to state ownership.
