Kazakh President Tokayev Backs Trump's Middle East Peace Council

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has expressed strong support for the Middle East peace initiative launched by former US President Donald Trump, known as the Peace Council. He shared his views during a media briefing following a referendum vote.

When asked by a Euronews correspondent about Kazakhstan's participation and the council's future viability, Tokayev stated he holds great respect for the former American leader. "His strategy, based on common sense, seems very correct and deserves support," the President remarked.

Tokayev explained that he was drawn to the initiative due to its innovative approach to solving complex international issues. He emphasized its unique combination of traditional diplomacy and the resources of major businesses, which he believes should bring tangible benefits to ordinary people, particularly in Gaza.

"People around the world are tired of endless conferences that produce resolutions full of good wishes, read by only a handful of individuals," Tokayev said. "That is why I consider it necessary to support this idea, as it offers a new approach."

The Kazakh leader described Trump as a strong personality and a courageous leader. He affirmed his belief that the prospect for achieving peace in the Middle East, especially in Palestine, still exists and expressed sincere hope for the successful future of this initiative.
