@UZDaily
On March 5, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
At the beginning of the talks, the Uzbek leader resolutely condemned recent drone attacks on Azerbaijani territory and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
The conversation highlighted that the sharp escalation of tensions in the Middle East in recent days is causing numerous civilian casualties and is a source of serious concern.
It was noted that such events, occurring during the holy month of Ramadan, contradict universal human values, international norms, and the principles of territorial integrity of states.
President Mirziyoyev also expressed gratitude to Ilham Aliyev for the measures taken and conditions created to ensure the safe evacuation of Uzbek citizens from Iran through Azerbaijan's territory.
In turn, President Aliyev thanked Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the friendly conversation and support during this difficult time.
