@МЭ РК
At the CERAWeek conference in Houston, Kazakhstan's Minister of Energy, Yerlan Akkenshenov, held a bilateral meeting with Chevron's Chairman and CEO, Michael Wirth. The talks focused on the status of major oil and gas projects involving American capital.
The parties noted that over more than 30 years of presence in Kazakhstan, Chevron has established itself as the largest foreign investor, implementing advanced technological solutions at the Tengiz and Kashagan fields.
Minister Akkenshenov highlighted the stable operation of key projects, particularly emphasizing the successful completion of the Future Growth Project (FGP) at Tengiz. They also discussed joint steps for a systematic increase in production capacity at Karachaganak and maintaining efficient production at the North Caspian project.
A separate part of the negotiations was dedicated to developing export logistics. The sides substantively discussed prospects for diversifying routes, including enhancing the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor), which is gaining strategic importance for reliably transporting Kazakh hydrocarbons to global markets.
The meeting underscored a commitment to a strategic bilateral partnership. The Kazakh side outlined its key priorities in cooperation with foreign capital: guaranteed long-term supply of energy resources to the domestic market, stimulation of technology transfer, and increasing socio-economic benefits from implemented mega-projects for the country's population.
In conclusion, Yerlan Akkenshenov and Michael Wirth agreed to continue constructive dialogue aimed at the long-term sustainable development of Kazakhstan's largest oil and gas assets.
