State Advisor Yerlan Karin has cast his vote in the national referendum on adopting a new Constitution. He described the plebiscite as the culmination of over six months of public debate and an event that will define the country's future.
"Today's referendum concludes more than half a year of public discussions on constitutional reform. For 189 days, thousands of citizens, experts, and public figures have participated in the dialogue. Throughout this period, we have witnessed significant public activity and broad civic engagement," Karin stated.

He emphasized that this referendum essentially predetermines Kazakhstan's path forward. "Today, citizens are making a decision: what kind of society we will build, and on what values and principles our country will develop," the State Advisor said.
Karin noted that this is already the third referendum held in Kazakhstan in the last four years. The presidential principle that all important and key decisions should be made through a referendum—taking into account the opinions of all citizens—has become an established norm and practice in the nation's political life.

"In recent years, Kazakhstan has set an example for everyone of open dialogue and making consolidated decisions by the state and society. Our country demonstrates high dynamism in political life and a commitment to progress," Yerlan Karin concluded.
The nationwide voting on the new Constitution is taking place on March 15 from 07:00 to 20:00 local time, unless specific territorial commissions set different hours for citizens' convenience.
The ballot contains a single question: "Do you accept the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the draft of which was published in mass media on February 12, 2026?"
