Iran Deploys Strategic Sajjil Missile for First Time in Current Conflict
@TengriNews
Iran's military has, for the first time in the ongoing conflict, deployed its strategic two-stage Sajjil missile. The announcement was made by Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
The 54th wave of the "True Promise 4" operation reportedly involved the use of several missile types. These included the super-heavy Kheibar Shekan and Emad missiles, as well as the Ghadr and Khorramshahr missiles with a two-ton warhead. The operation marked the inaugural combat use of the solid-fuel Sajjil missile in this specific campaign.
According to the IRGC statement, the strikes targeted Israeli command and decision-making centers related to air operations. Infrastructure linked to Israel's military and defense industry, along with locations where Israeli forces were gathered, were also hit.
This is not the Sajjil missile's first-ever combat deployment. During a conflict with Israel in June 2025, the IRGC reported its use, describing it as a "super-heavy two-stage long-range missile."
The current hostilities escalated after strikes by US and Israeli forces on targets within Iran, including Tehran, on February 28. Those attacks resulted in destruction and civilian casualties. Iran has since carried out retaliatory strikes against Israeli territory and US military assets across the Middle East region.
