Tajik President to Make State Visit to Uzbekistan for High-Level Talks

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon will pay a state visit to Uzbekistan on March 26-27. The visit is taking place at the invitation of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The program includes high-level negotiations and the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council, which will be chaired by both leaders. The discussions will focus on strengthening friendship, good-neighborly relations, and strategic partnership between the two nations.
A key part of the agenda is expanding political dialogue, trade, economic and interregional cooperation. The presidents will also discuss deepening industrial cooperation, developing transport connectivity, ensuring water and energy security, and continuing cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The heads of state are expected to exchange views on current international and regional issues, as well as interaction within multilateral formats. The visit will feature the launch of several new joint projects and the signing of a package of bilateral documents aimed at further developing multifaceted cooperation.
