Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced new agreements with his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, following a working meeting in Istanbul. The leaders discussed enhancing bilateral security cooperation and advancing joint energy projects.

In a statement posted on social media, Zelenskyy detailed the talks, which covered the state of relations between Ukraine and Turkey, as well as broader regional security in Europe and the Middle East. "It is important that joint and coordinated actions strengthen the protection of life and help improve people's security in all regions of the world," he wrote.

The presidents agreed on new steps in the security sphere. Zelenskyy explained that Ukraine is prepared to support Turkey with expertise, technology, and experience in specific areas. "There is firm political readiness for joint work, and our teams will work out all the details in the coming days," he stated.

Energy cooperation was another key topic. The leaders reviewed practical steps for implementing joint projects to develop gas infrastructure and explore possibilities for jointly developing gas fields.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude for Turkey's consistent support of Ukraine's independence and territorial integrity. "We highly value our close cooperation over all these years, which allows us to work on truly significant projects capable of strengthening our entire region," he added.

For his part, President Erdogan reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to supporting negotiations between Ukraine and Russia, emphasizing the region's need for greater peace and stability. He also stressed Ankara's significant focus on ensuring safe navigation in the Black Sea and reliable energy supply chains.

Erdogan declared Turkey's determination to increase mutual trade volumes with Ukraine and its intention to continue taking all necessary steps toward that goal. He also expressed satisfaction with Kyiv's developing relations with countries in the Persian Gulf.
