Kazakhstan's Agricultural Output Nearly Doubles in Seven Years

Kazakhstan's agricultural sector has demonstrated remarkable growth, with the gross output of agricultural products nearly doubling over the past seven years. The value surged from 5.2 trillion tenge in 2019 to 9.8 trillion tenge in 2025.

This significant expansion is attributed to a systematic state-led development course for the agro-industrial complex and comprehensive government support measures. Crop production showed particularly high performance. The grain harvest reached 25.9 million tons with an average yield of 16.3 centners per hectare, including 19.3 million tons of wheat.

The year 2025 also saw record harvests for oilseeds at 4.9 million tons and pulses at 1 million tons. Additionally, farmers gathered 2.8 million tons of potatoes, 3.7 million tons of vegetables, and 2.5 million tons of melons.

The cotton harvest amounted to 466 thousand tons with a yield of 32 centners per hectare—the highest figure in the last 18 years.

Systematic work is underway to diversify crop areas. In recent years, the area dedicated to wheat monoculture has been reduced by nearly 900 thousand hectares. Simultaneously, land under pulse crops increased by 275 thousand hectares, while high-margin oilseed areas expanded by over one million hectares.

State support is reflected in technological modernization across the industry.
