Kazakhstan's Vice Minister of Finance, Dauren Kenbeil, participated in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group in Washington, D.C. During the event, he held a series of meetings with representatives from major international financial institutions and investment firms.
Discussions with World Bank Vice President and Treasurer Jorge Familiar and International Finance Corporation Regional Director John Gandolfo focused on strengthening financial partnership and implementing projects within Kazakhstan. The parties highlighted the World Bank's significant role in supporting the country's economic reforms, infrastructure development, and ensuring its macroeconomic and fiscal stability.
During talks with international investors at platforms organized by Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan, and Barclays, Kenbeil detailed ongoing economic transformations, the nation's investment appeal, and current debt policy.
A key outcome was achieved in negotiations with Euroclear leadership. The parties discussed deepening financial cooperation, including integrating Kazakh financial instruments into international market infrastructure and clearing government securities. An agreement was reached to establish a direct link for foreign participants to access Kazakhstan's stock market.
Meetings were also held with leading international credit rating agencies—Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s, and Fitch Ratings—to review the macroeconomic situation, economic policy direction, and prospects for improving Kazakhstan's sovereign credit rating.
Furthermore, Kenbeil exchanged views with Mongolia's Deputy Minister of Finance, Ms. Khulan Bat-Erdene. Their conversation covered the current state of international financial markets and the development of bilateral economic relations.
Following all meetings, participants expressed confidence in implementing joint projects and further developing mutually beneficial partnerships.
