The decision to terminate a criminal case involving an official suspected of raping a minor has been revoked in the West Kazakhstan Region. The regional prosecutor's office is now overseeing the matter.
"The procedural decision to terminate the case has been canceled. All arguments from the victim's side will be additionally verified during the investigation," stated an official.
The case concerns an employee of the Shyngyrlau district administration, suspected of raping a girl. According to the victim's father, the 57-year-old man lured his daughter to his home under false pretenses and raped her. The father was also outraged that no preventive measure was chosen for the suspect.
Initially, police registered a case under Article 120 of the Criminal Code (Rape of a Minor). However, law enforcement later reported that after examining correspondence and other materials, no facts of violence against the minor were established.
Media reports indicate that both the 16-year-old girl and her mother stated they had no claims against the suspect and that their relationship was consensual.
The district administration employee implicated in the criminal case has already been dismissed. Regarding potential disciplinary action against police officers involved in handling the case, officials stated: "Based on the results of the investigation, we will decide on conducting an internal investigation. It is now necessary to await the results of pre-trial proceedings."
The investigation into this high-profile incident continues.
