A major strategic investment project for the deep processing of corn has been launched in the Shu district of the Zhambyl region. The production complex is being built on the territory of the special economic zone "Jibek Joly" with the participation of the company Shengtai Biotech Co., Ltd (Fufeng Group).

The project is being implemented within the framework of instructions from the Head of State to develop the country's manufacturing sector and involves the phased construction of an industrial park. The first stage of the enterprise has now been completed.

The plant is focused on producing high-demand amino acids, including valine, threonine, glutamine, and citrulline. The first batches of product—isoleucine and leucine—have already been manufactured in a pilot mode.

This event marks a significant milestone for domestic industry: production of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) has been mastered for the first time in Kazakhstan and across Central Asia as a whole. A gradual increase in production volumes is currently underway to reach full design capacity.

Once fully operational, the plant will be capable of processing up to 3 million tons of corn annually and will create approximately 1,700 new jobs. The total investment in the project amounts to $1.5 billion USD, with an enterprise area covering 400 hectares.

The manufactured products are slated for export to countries in Central Asia, Europe, America, and Africa.
