A major investment project for the deep processing of corn has reached a key milestone in the Zhambyl region of Kazakhstan. The first phase of a new industrial complex, located within the special economic zone "Jibek Joly" in the Shu district, has been completed and is now operational.

The facility, developed with the participation of China's Shengtai Biotech Co., Ltd (Fufeng Group), marks a significant advancement for the country's manufacturing sector. It is now producing essential amino acids, including valine, threonine, glutamine, and citrulline.

The plant has already yielded its first batches of product—isoleucine and leucin—in a technical run. This achievement represents a major industrial breakthrough: it is the first production facility for branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs) not only in Kazakhstan but in the entire Central Asian region.

Work is currently underway to gradually ramp up production to reach full design capacity. Once fully operational, the plant will have an annual processing capacity of up to 3 million tons of corn and is expected to create approximately 1,700 new jobs.

The total investment in the project amounts to $1.5 billion USD, with the industrial park covering an area of 400 hectares. The amino acids produced will be exported to markets across Central Asia, Europe, America, and Africa.
