Major Illegal Migration Channel Dismantled in Shymkent

The Ministry of Internal Affairs is conducting systematic work to suppress channels of illegal migration.

As a result of an operational investigation, the activities of a stable criminal group that organized an illegal migration channel were stopped in Shymkent.

It was established that the perpetrators, for monetary reward, were engaged in organizing the entry and illegal legalization of foreign citizens on the country's territory.

During the operation, 28 search activities were carried out. As a result, dozens of foreign passports, office equipment, communication devices, forms, and fictitious employment contracts were seized. In addition, large sums of money and unregistered weapons were confiscated.

The organizer of the criminal group has been placed in a temporary detention facility. Thirteen members of the group involved in this channel have been delivered to the police. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated against those involved under an article of the Criminal Code for organizing illegal migration.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs warns that any violations of migration legislation will not go unpunished; work to suppress channels of illegal migration continues.
