Three Men Detained in Karaganda Region for Major Apartment Thefts
@TengriNews
Police in Kazakhstan's Karaganda region have dismantled a criminal group suspected of carrying out a series of high-value apartment burglaries. Three men, aged between 35 and 39, were apprehended during a special operation.
The arrests were made by criminal police officers with the tactical support of the special forces unit "Arlan." Video footage released by the regional police department shows the suspects casing residential courtyards and building entrances, allegedly to select their targets. The method of entry involved prying off window grilles to gain access to apartments.
One confirmed episode of their activity occurred earlier this year on Loboda Street in Karaganda. The thieves stole approximately 40 pieces of diamond jewelry, a mink coat, and a laptop, causing preliminary estimated damage exceeding 20 million tenge.
A criminal case has been initiated on charges of large-scale theft. The detained individuals have been placed in a temporary detention facility as investigators work to establish their possible involvement in other similar crimes in the region.
