Uzbekistan and Portugal Agree to Expand Cooperation in Key Sectors

Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held substantive talks with his Portuguese counterpart, Paulo Rangel, in Tashkent. The discussions focused on enhancing the bilateral relationship across multiple fronts.
The ministers explored ways to deepen political dialogue and significantly expand trade, economic, and investment ties between the two nations. A key outcome was an agreement to launch joint projects in several priority areas.
These collaborative initiatives will span the agro-industrial complex, infrastructure development, green energy, tourism, transport, and cultural-humanitarian exchanges. The meeting also resulted in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two foreign ministries.
The newly signed memorandum is designed to facilitate information exchange and the study of best practices. It establishes a framework for strengthening institutional dialogue and creating effective mechanisms for future cooperation between Uzbekistan and Portugal.
