Uzbekistan and Portugal Agree to Expand Cooperation in Key Sectors

Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held substantive talks with his Portuguese counterpart, Paulo Rangel, in Tashkent. The ministers discussed ways to qualitatively develop bilateral relations, intensify political dialogue, and expand trade, economic, and investment cooperation.

During the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement to launch joint projects in priority areas. These include the agro-industrial complex, infrastructure development, green energy, tourism, transport, and cultural-humanitarian interaction.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the two foreign ministries. The document is aimed at facilitating information exchange and studying best practices.

The signed memorandum establishes a framework for deepening institutional dialogue and forming effective mechanisms for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Portugal.
