Uzbekistan and Afghanistan Sign $400 Million in Trade Deals

Uzbekistan and Afghanistan have signed 20 trade agreements with a total value exceeding $400 million, marking a significant step in expanding economic cooperation between the two nations.

The deals were finalized during a high-level business meeting held in Uzbekistan's Fergana region as part of an official visit by an Afghan trade delegation. The event saw participation from private sector representatives of both countries.

The concluded agreements cover key industries, including textiles, raw materials, pharmaceuticals, and several other sectors. The parties emphasized the importance of developing cross-border trade and establishing stable, long-term commercial ties.

The Afghan delegation was led by Zalgai Azimi, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment. It included business representatives such as Abdullah Rahimi, Said Ahmad Noorzad, Ubaidullah Hotak, and Mirzaman Popal, Deputy Executive Director.

During the visit, the delegation also toured several major industrial enterprises in the Fergana region to familiarize itself with the area's production potential and prospects for further collaboration.
