Kazakh Businesses Face Late-February Deadline to Choose Simplified Tax Regime

@UlysMedia
Kazakhstan's tax authorities have issued a critical deadline alert for entrepreneurs, setting February 28, 2026, as the final date to apply for a new simplified declaration tax regime.
The special regime, which officially launches in 2026, is designed for self-employed individuals and specific business activities. To opt in, business owners must submit a formal notification before the cutoff.
Applications can be filed through several channels, primarily digital ones. These include the official e-Salyq Business mobile app or similar services provided by major banks like Kaspi, Halyk Bank, and BCC. Notifications are also accepted via the taxpayer's personal account on government websites or, traditionally, on paper at local Revenue Department offices.
If the regime is not selected by this time, the taxpayer will be automatically transferred to the generally established regime starting from January 1
This automatic transfer means businesses missing the deadline will be placed under the standard, more complex taxation and reporting system from the start of the following year. The government has already approved a specific list of eligible activities for the new preferential regime.
With just over a year until the deadline, small and medium-sized business entities have time to assess the benefits of the simplified system and formally declare their choice to avoid default enrollment into a more burdensome tax framework.
