Ukrainian defense forces carried out a missile strike on the Russian city of Bryansk on the evening of Tuesday, March 10. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the attack.

According to Zelenskyy, the strike successfully hit a factory that manufactures control systems for all types of missiles in Russia's arsenal. "There was a hit on the Bryansk plant," Zelenskyy stated. "This plant produced control systems for all types of missiles of the Russian Federation. Well, I can only congratulate our Armed Forces, well done. Thank you for your service."

Videos circulating online show a large column of smoke rising from the site.

The governor of Bryansk Oblast, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that six people were killed and 37 others were wounded as a result of the missile attack. Some of the injured have been hospitalized in serious condition.

The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces stated that Storm Shadow cruise missiles targeted the Bryansk microelectronics plant "Kremniy El." The Ukrainian military command described "Kremniy El" as a critically important link in the production chain for Russian "high-precision" weaponry. The plant specializes in discrete semiconductor equipment and integrated microcircuits, which serve as the "brains" and "nervous system" of modern weapons, particularly Iskander missiles.
