Former US President Donald Trump has declared that any potential deal with Iran is contingent upon the country's "unconditional surrender" and a change in its leadership. He made this statement in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Friday, March 6.

"There will be no deal with Iran other than unconditional surrender! After that, and after choosing a great and acceptable leader (or leaders), we will work tirelessly with our many wonderful and very brave allies and partners to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before," Trump wrote.

He concluded the post with a slogan echoing his famous campaign phrase: "Make Iran Great Again, MIGA!"

In a subsequent post on the same day, Trump mentioned large-scale movements of people in the Middle East. "We are moving thousands of people from various countries in the Middle East. It is being done quietly but without a hitch. The State Department under Secretary Marco Rubio is doing an excellent job!" he stated.

This hardline stance follows comments Trump made in an interview with NBC News. During that interview, he advocated for a complete change in Iran's leadership and claimed Washington had several potential candidates in mind for the role of a "good leader," though he declined to name any specifically.

Previously, Trump has asserted that he should be personally involved in selecting Iran's next leader. He acknowledged that Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is the most likely successor but made it clear he considers such an outcome unacceptable.
