Trump Vows to Turn Focus to Cuba After Iran, Says Island's 'Last Days' Are Here

President Donald Trump has declared that the United States will shift its attention to Cuba following the completion of military operations against Iran, predicting a "wonderful new life" for the island nation. He made these remarks during a summit in Florida.
"We are also looking forward to great changes coming soon to Cuba," stated the U.S. Leader. "It will have a wonderful new life, but in its current form it is living its last days. However, our focus right now is on Iran."
Trump expressed confidence that a deal with Cuba could be reached very easily. He reiterated comments from late February, revealing that Washington is engaged in talks with Havana "at a very high level" and suggested the possibility of a "friendly" takeover of the country.
"They have no money. They have nothing right now. But they are talking to us, and maybe we'll take over Cuba in a friendly way," he said.
The President further characterized Cuba as "a failed nation, to put it mildly," and claimed it desires American assistance.
The United States has maintained a strict trade embargo against Cuba since 1962, imposed one year after the failed Bay of Pigs invasion of the island.
