Former US President Donald Trump has declared that any future agreement with Iran is contingent upon the nation's "unconditional surrender" and the installation of new, acceptable leadership. He made this statement in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Friday, March 6.

"There will be no deal with Iran except unconditional surrender! After that and after choosing a great and acceptable leader (leaders), we will work tirelessly with many of our wonderful and very brave allies and partners to bring Iran back from the brink of destruction, making it economically bigger, better, and stronger than ever before," Trump wrote.

"There will be no deal with Iran except unconditional surrender!"

He concluded his message with a slogan echoing his 2016 campaign: "Make Iran Great Again, MIGA!"

In a subsequent post, Trump alluded to significant regional movements. "We are moving thousands of people from various countries in the Middle East. It is being done quietly but without a hitch. The State Department under Secretary Marco Rubio is doing a great job!" he stated.

This hardline stance follows an interview Trump gave to NBC News the previous day. During that conversation, he advocated for a complete change in Iran's leadership and claimed Washington had several potential candidates in mind for the role of a "good leader," though he declined to name any specifically.

The former president has previously asserted that he should be personally involved in selecting Iran's next leader. He acknowledged that Mojtaba Khamenei, son of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is the most likely successor but made it clear he views such an outcome as unacceptable.
