U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that the military operation against Iran could conclude soon, citing a lack of remaining targets for strikes.

In a phone interview on Wednesday, March 11, Trump explained his position. "Little this and that... Any time I want it to end, it will end," the President said.

The comments follow reports from Tuesday that U.S. Intelligence indicated Iran had begun laying naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping route. American officials noted it was unclear how many mines had been deployed but estimated the number was small.

Trump confirmed to the interviewer that U.S. Strikes on Tuesday destroyed 16 boats intended for mine-laying operations, thereby disrupting Iran's plans.

The President expressed satisfaction with the campaign's progress. "We are significantly ahead of schedule. We have inflicted more damage than we thought possible even in the initial six-week period," he stated.

He framed the conflict as retribution for Iran's regional actions. "They were targeting the rest of the Middle East. They are paying for 47 years of death and destruction they have caused. This is payback. They are not going to get away with it so easily," Trump added.

The American leader asserted that Iran's hostility extended beyond Israel and the United States to nations across the Persian Gulf region.

"Little this and that... Any time I want it to end, it will end."

A social media post from a journalist summarized Trump's core message: that the war would end "soon" because there was "practically nothing left" to target.
