Trump Signals US Focus on Cuba After Iran, Predicts 'Wonderful New Life' for Island

US President Donald Trump has declared that the United States will turn its attention to Cuba following the resolution of the Iranian issue, predicting significant and imminent changes for the Caribbean nation. He made these remarks during a summit in Florida.
"We are also looking forward to great changes that will soon come to Cuba," Trump stated. "It will have a wonderful new life, but in its current form, it is living its last days. However, our attention is now focused on Iran."
The American leader expressed confidence that a deal with Havana could be reached with relative ease. He revealed that Washington is engaged in talks with Cuba "at a very high level" and even suggested the possibility of a "friendly" takeover of the island nation.
"They have no money. They have nothing right now. But they are talking to us, and maybe we'll take over Cuba in a friendly way," Trump said.
The President further characterized Cuba as "a failed nation, to put it mildly," and claimed it desires American assistance.
The United States has maintained a strict trade embargo against Cuba since 1962, implemented in the aftermath of the failed Bay of Pigs invasion the previous year.
