US President Donald Trump has declared that any future supreme leader of Iran must receive approval from the United States, warning that without it, the leader "is not going to last long." He made these remarks during an interview with ABC News on Sunday, March 8.

"He's going to have to get approval from us," Trump stated. "If he doesn't get approval from us, he's not going to last long. We want to make sure we don't have to go back and do this every 10 years when there isn't a president like me who would do it."

The President expressed his desire to avoid a situation where, in five years, people would have to repeat the same actions or face an even worse scenario of a nuclear-armed Iran. When asked if he would approve someone connected to the previous regime, Trump replied, "I would agree to pick a good leader... There are many people who could be suitable."

Trump also accused Iran of having plans for regional domination. "They are a paper tiger. They weren't a week ago, I'll tell you that. And they were going to attack," he said. "Their plan was to take over the entire Middle East."

Regarding military options, the US leader did not rule out sending special forces units to seize Iran's enriched uranium, stating that "everything is being considered." However, he was hesitant to predict the duration of any military operation. "I don't know. I never predict," Trump said. "All I can say is we're ahead of schedule both in terms of effectiveness and time."

"He's going to have to get approval from us. If he doesn't get approval from us, he's not going to last long."

This statement follows earlier comments by Trump in an interview with The New York Times where he indicated American forces were prepared to continue strikes on Iran for four or five weeks if necessary.
