Former US President Donald Trump issued a furious, profanity-laden demand directed at Iran's leadership, calling on them to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. The tirade was posted on his social media platform, Truth Social.

In the post, Trump wrote: "On Tuesday (April 7), Iran will have both 'Power Plant Day' and 'Bridge Day'—all in one package. You've never seen anything like it!!! Open the fucking strait (Fuckin Strait), you crazy bastards, or you will live in hell. You'll see." He concluded the message with the phrase "Praise be to Allah."

The context for this outburst is a significant disruption to shipping through the critical Strait of Hormuz, a major route for oil and LNG supplies from Arab states. A joint US-Israeli military operation in the Middle East has led to an almost complete halt of maritime traffic through the waterway, triggering a rise in fuel prices worldwide.
