Trump Urges Allies to Secure Strait of Hormuz and Buy U.S. Oil

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has called on American allies to take direct action to secure the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil shipping lane, while simultaneously promoting the purchase of American petroleum.
In a 19-minute national address delivered on the evening of April 1st (Eastern U.S. Time), Trump outlined his proposal. "To those countries that can’t get fuel, many of which refused to get involved in the decapitation of Iran, I have a suggestion," he stated. "Number 1, buy oil from the United States. And Number 2, build up some delayed courage, go to the Strait, and just take it."
Trump framed his call by asserting that Iran has already been "defeated" and that the hardest part of the conflict is over. He reiterated that the United States will not slow its bombing campaign against Iran and threatened new strikes "within the next two to three weeks," vowing to return the country "to the Stone Age where they belong."
Earlier in his speech, Trump indicated that U.S. Strategic objectives in Iran were nearing completion, though he did not specify a timeline for declaring them fully achieved.
The remarks also included a claim that Washington is negotiating with what he described as "more reasonable" leaders within Iran.
