Trump Declares US Strategic Goals in Iran Nearing Completion
@TengriNews
President Donald Trump announced that the United States is approaching the completion of its core strategic objectives in Iran. He made the statement during a televised address to the nation on Wednesday evening, April 1, Eastern Time.
"Tonight, I am pleased to say that these core strategic objectives are nearing completion," Trump stated. He paid tribute to American service members who lost their lives in the conflict, adding, "We think especially of the 13 American warriors who have laid down their lives in this fight. Now, we must honor them by completing the mission for which they gave their lives."
The President did not specify a precise timeline for when he would consider these goals fully achieved. The remarks were shared via a White House-affiliated social media account.
This announcement follows recent tensions over the Strait of Hormuz. Previously, Trump claimed Iran had requested a ceasefire but stated he would not consider it until Tehran ceased blocking the vital oil shipping route. Iranian officials have denied making any such request.
Earlier, Trump had suggested he could end the war within two to three weeks even without a formal agreement and intensified threats to withdraw the U.S. From NATO if European allies did not assist in countering Iran's threat to the strategic waterway.
