President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan has officially received the credentials of newly appointed ambassadors from eight nations during a ceremony in Astana.
The diplomats who presented their credentials were: Ambassador Helena Sand Andresen of the Kingdom of Norway; Ambassador Enrique Ignacio Ferrer Vieira of the Argentine Republic; Ambassador Komla Stimm Dzehu Appiah of the Republic of Ghana; Ambassador Seydou Kamissoko of the Republic of Mali; Ambassador Alkali Fanka Conteh of the Republic of The Gambia; Ambassador Muhammad Nazrul Islam of the People's Republic of Bangladesh; Ambassador Shobhini Gunasekera of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka; and Ambassador Ivan Orlić of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In his address to the diplomatic corps, President Tokayev outlined Kazakhstan's socio-economic and political development prospects. He emphasized that despite external challenges, the country's economy remains one of the most stable and dynamic in its region. The President stated that Kazakhstan does not intend to rest on its laurels and will continue to implement consistent economic reforms.

A key point in his speech was the upcoming nationwide constitutional referendum scheduled for March 15. "We count on citizens' support for this document, as it will be an important step on the path to further progress for our state," Tokayev said. He expressed hope that a new Constitution would create a solid foundation for large-scale transformations, democratization, and comprehensive modernization, opening new opportunities for national development and improving citizens' welfare.

Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan's commitment to a peaceful foreign policy. He stressed that all contradictions and conflicts in today's world should be resolved exclusively through peaceful means and diplomatic efforts.

The President also declared solidarity with Gulf states and expressed hope for a swift resolution to existing conflicts. Concluding his remarks, he wished success to all foreign diplomats in their responsible work.

This diplomatic event follows another recent high-level meeting where President Tokayev received US Ambassador to Kazakhstan Julie Stufft on February 27. During that meeting, they exchanged views on further cooperation within frameworks like peace councils, with Tokayev noting with satisfaction the current high dynamics in Kazakh-American political dialogue at the highest level.
