Simultaneously, President Tokayev expressed hope for a joint and thorough investigation of the incident with Iran. He emphasized the necessity of resolving the conflict situation through diplomatic channels to prevent any escalation of regional tensions.
The attack involved unmanned aerial vehicles that reportedly fell on the territory of the Nakhchivan airport. According to subsequent statements from Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the airport building sustained damage and several civilians were injured as a result.
