Kazakh President Tokayev Meets Turkish VP, Confirms Strategic Partnership

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Vice President of Turkey Cevdet Yılmaz in Astana. Welcoming the Turkish official on his first visit to the country, Tokayev emphasized that Turkey is a strategic partner for Kazakhstan.
The President stated that the fraternal nations are bound by ties of mutual trust and respect. He noted that over nearly 35 years since establishing diplomatic relations, bilateral cooperation has been progressively developing and has reached a qualitatively new level.
"There are no contradictions or disagreements between Kazakhstan and Turkey," Tokayev underscored during the talks.
He announced that Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will pay an official state visit to Kazakhstan on May 14. As part of this high-level visit, the two sides plan to hold another session of the Supreme Strategic Cooperation Council and sign a series of new agreements.
Tokayev also expressed confidence that the results of today's meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Astana, co-chaired by the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and the Turkish Vice President, will contribute to further strengthening the multifaceted strategic partnership between the two countries.
