Kazakh President Attends Trump's Peace Council Inauguration in Washington
@TengriNews
Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Washington to participate in the inaugural session of the International Peace Council, held at the Donald Trump Institute for Peace.
Kazakhstan is a founding member of the organization, established on the initiative of the current U.S. President. Tokayev signed the Council's charter in January during a visit to the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The new body is tasked with strategic oversight and resource mobilization for the peaceful development of the Gaza sector. Its mandate also includes monitoring compliance with international commitments to stabilize the region.
The Council will have a two-tier structure. A founding executive council of seven individuals will handle key areas: diplomacy, development, infrastructure, and economic strategy.
On-the-ground operational activity will be managed by an executive council for Gaza, comprising 11 specialists, including four members from the main council. Beyond the session, the Kazakh leader will hold a series of meetings in the American capital with foreign counterparts and U.S. officials.
