Kazakh President Tokayev Welcomes Iran's Pledge Against Attacking Neighbors
@TengriNews
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has welcomed a statement by his Iranian counterpart, Masoud Pezeshkian, regarding Tehran's decision to refrain from attacks on neighboring countries.
The announcement was made by the Kazakh leader's advisor and press secretary, Aibek Smadiyarov. "The President of Kazakhstan considers this decision an important measure aimed at easing tensions in the Middle East," Smadiyarov wrote.
Iranian media published a statement from President Pezeshkian in which he declared that Iran would not attack neighboring countries unless strikes originate from their territories. According to Pezeshkian, this decision was made by Iran's temporary leadership council. He also added that "the enemy's dreams of surrender will never come true."
The development follows a statement the day before by U.S. President Donald Trump, who set strict conditions for any deal with Iran, stating it would only be possible following Tehran's "unconditional surrender."
