President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has underscored that strict adherence to law and public order is a fundamental prerequisite for the successful implementation of reforms in Kazakhstan. He made these remarks during an address to the public in the Turkestan region.

The Head of State explained his frequent emphasis on this principle, stating that progress is unattainable without it. "Why do I often speak about the mandatory observance of the principle of Law and Order? Because without strict compliance with laws and public order, no reforms in our country will be successfully implemented. Ultimately, this is a law of life," Tokayev said.

He further elaborated that progress cannot be achieved in nations experiencing internal instability or where state institutions face unwarranted and unjust criticism and attacks.

Tokayev stressed that societal life must develop naturally and evolutionarily to prevent stagnation. He highlighted key constitutional amendments adopted in 2022 as part of this evolutionary path. These include establishing a single seven-year presidential term without the right to re-election, prohibiting close relatives of the president from holding high-ranking state or national company positions, and instituting single-term limits for heads of constitutional and law enforcement agencies.

The President noted that such provisions are unique, stating they are not found in the constitutions of other countries.

Previously, Tokayev has stated that the New Constitution was adopted for the benefit of future generations. He praised the active, innovative, and mature stance of Kazakh youth during the nationwide referendum, describing them as responsible, progressive citizens making a conscious choice for their country's future.
