The Senate of Kazakhstan has approved the dismissal of three judges from the Supreme Court. The decision was made based on a proposal submitted by the Head of State.

The judges relieved of their duties are Askarzhan Kenzhegarin, Gaziza Musabekova, and Beibut Sharmukhametov. According to the Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Dmitry Malakhov, who presented the proposal to the chamber, Kenzhegarin and Musabekova are leaving their posts in connection with their retirement.

"Both judges have more than 30 years of judicial experience," Malakhov stated. "Askarzhan Kenzhegarin served as chairman of the criminal judicial panel of the Astana city court for over eight years before becoming a Supreme Court judge. Gaziza Musabekova headed the criminal judicial panel of the Zhambyl regional court and has been a Supreme Court judge for more than ten years."

The third judge, Beibut Sharmukhametov, was dismissed due to reaching retirement age. Malakhov noted that Sharmukhametov had worked as a judge for approximately 26 years, with more than 19 of those years served on the Supreme Court.

"All judges have an impeccable reputation and enjoy well-deserved authority within the judicial community," added Malakhov during his address to senators.

The Senate deputies unanimously supported the Head of State's proposal for dismissal.
