The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) of the US Department of the Treasury has removed Uzbek citizen Gilad Pilfaks from its sanctions list. The official announcement was published on the agency's website.

Sanctions against Gilad Pilfaks and his father, Max Pilfaks, were imposed in early February 2022. At that time, US authorities blacklisted 22 individuals and entities suspected of supplying high-tech components to Russia in circumvention of restrictive measures.

According to available data, Gilad Pilfaks was born on September 23, 1992, in Tashkent. His profile indicates dual citizenship of Uzbekistan and Israel. His father, Max Borisovich Pilfaks, born June 14, 1962, is listed as a citizen of Uzbekistan.

It was noted that Max Pilfaks, a resident of Uzbekistan and director of the company Mateas Limited, along with his son Gilad, were linked to the so-called Zimenkov network and acted as partners of DES Defense Engineering Solutions LTD.

According to information from the US Treasury Department, Igor Zimenkov created a network aimed at evading sanctions and supporting Russia's military-industrial complex. Participants in this structure were allegedly involved in projects including the supply of high-tech equipment to Russia after the start of hostilities in Ukraine on February 24, 2022.

It was also noted that certain participants in the network provided assistance to Russian organizations such as Rosoboronexport and Rostec.
