Criminal Investigation into Astana Housing Scams Concluded, Cases Sent to Court

The investigation into criminal cases involving the illegal attraction of citizens' funds for shared-equity construction has been completed. The criminal cases against a group of individuals have been sent to court.

The actions of the accused resulted in causing particularly large-scale damage amounting to 8.2 billion tenge and affected the interests of more than 426 families.

Investigators established that the organizers of the criminal scheme attracted money from citizens for the construction of residential complexes 'Oasis', 'R-Club', and 'R-Club Deluxe' without obtaining the necessary permits, in violation of Kazakhstani legislation. The raised funds were not used for their intended purpose, and the construction of the facilities was not carried out properly.

To secure civil claims from the victims, with court sanction, arrests have been imposed on movable and immovable property. This includes 10 apartments, 36 land plots, 16 non-residential premises, and 49 vehicles.

A preventive measure in the form of detention has been chosen for 12 suspects in the case.
