The gradual lifting of the state-imposed moratorium on fuel prices is now visibly affecting the market. Nine days after its cancellation for AI-92 gasoline, prices at many filling stations are rising towards the upper limit of the government-set price corridor of 213–239 tenge per liter. Some networks are already selling it at 240 tenge. Diesel fuel is reaching up to 336 tenge within its 317–337 tenge corridor, while AI-95 gasoline is also climbing to around 325–328 tenge. While no sharp spikes have been recorded, a steady upward trend is evident.

Authorities are reminding citizens about the consequences of unpaid vehicle taxes for 2025. The deadline for payment was April 1st, and penalties have been accruing since April 2nd. Failure to pay can lead to a formal tax order and subsequent enforcement measures after a grace period. These measures may include the seizure of bank accounts and property, travel bans preventing departure from Kazakhstan, and restrictions on selling the vehicle in question.

A new fraudulent scheme impersonating government services has been identified. Scammers are sending SMS messages that appear to be from official bodies, claiming recipients have fines and providing links to fake websites mimicking the eGov.kz portal. Even entering random data on these sites generates a "fine" to build false trust. The ultimate goal is to steal banking card details entered for "payment." Police emphasize that genuine state agencies never request personal or banking information via SMS.

A large-scale inspection of water consumers is underway in Almaty, targeting illegal connections, meter tampering, and unauthorized usage. The focus is particularly on car washes, bathhouses (banyas), and catering establishments. Over 100 violations have already been documented, including water use without a contract and illegal wastewater discharge. Consequences for violators range from recalculated bills at commercial rates to complete disconnection from the water supply.

Widespread complaints emerged from Kazakhstani citizens regarding unexpected blockages of personal and business bank accounts across multiple financial institutions. Many affected individuals reported having no tax debts and receiving unclear explanations for the restrictions. Some notifications referenced unfulfilled requirements related to tax audits (cameral control), which account holders disputed.

The State Revenue Committee later attributed the mass blocking to an error during the implementation of a new automation methodology. Officials apologized for the inconvenience and pledged to fully unblock all affected accounts by April 10th.

A scandal erupted at an Almaty school over excessive fundraising for a graduation party. A parent publicly complained that contributions were being requested in the range of 200,000 to 300,000 tenge per student—a significant burden for many families. An investigation revealed that discussions about collecting money took place not through official school channels but in informal parent chat groups.

The Ministry of Education stressed that school administration and educational authorities share responsibility for transparency in such matters. Following the probe, disciplinary action was taken against both the school's leadership and officials from the district education department for insufficient oversight.

A tragic incident occurred in Zhairem village in the Ulytau region where a 42-year-old mother of four was killed with exceptional cruelty—reportedly stabbed approximately twenty times at her workplace by her former partner.

The suspect then inflicted non-fatal injuries upon himself before being hospitalized; he will be transferred to pre-trial detention after treatment. Relatives stated that he had struggled with alcohol abuse, unemployment, and aggression towards her previously. A criminal case has been initiated on charges of murder with particular cruelty.
