The year 2025 has been a landmark period for Kazakhstan's youth on the global academic stage. A delegation of 1,720 students represented the nation at more than 30 international subject olympiads and scientific competitions, securing an impressive total of 1,006 medals.

The national team achieved remarkable success across various disciplines. At the seven most prestigious international subject olympiads, Kazakhstan's students earned 27 medals: four gold, thirteen silver, and ten bronze. The robotics team was crowned world champion for the fourth time, while the chemistry squad secured its third consecutive international olympiad title. In scientific physics, Kazakh schoolchildren were named absolute champions.

Further accolades include the geography team placing second in the world and Kazakhstan maintaining its position within the top three at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad for a second consecutive year.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokaev personally honored the winners and prize recipients in a ceremony held at Akorda. The total sum of one-time awards for both students and their mentors exceeded 100 million tenge. This state recognition program for olympiad achievers has been operational since 2022 on the President's initiative, placing Kazakhstan among a select group of nations with such a support system.

In a significant expansion of this policy, starting next year, state prizes will also be awarded to schoolchildren who win medals at international scientific contests.

These outstanding results are attributed to the diligent preparation of the students themselves, the dedicated work of their teachers, and unwavering parental support. On a broader scale, they reflect the tangible outcomes of systemic reforms within Kazakhstan's education sector.
